Silencing symptoms or emotions doesn’t make the cause go away. The temporary bandaids, distractions, and quick fixes prolong healing and can lead to further injury and suffering. We’ve got to acknowledge what we’re feeling in order to deal with it appropriately. The process of healing involves feeling and dealing. We must feel and deal over and over again. Healing really is a journey. It’s not linear. It’s not easy. It is work and it is worth it. You are worth it.
I have many more thoughts on this. It comes up here often. To be continued . . . another day. Many other days.
