It also is not uniform. Every single person will have a path and experience all their own. Each journey toward healing comes with its own unique set of hurdles, setbacks, and paths to traverse. All healing – whether it’s physical, emotional, mental, or other. More often than not, the road to healing will have many bumps and valleys along the way. I’m on the tail end of a 10 day straight migraine and haven’t gone through that in 7.5 years. It’s frustrating and demoralizing. And it stinks. It also can be an expected and important part of my own unique journey. If you feel discouraged or want to give up, know that you’re not alone. Also know that it is no smooth and steady climb for anyone. No matter what work someone puts in or what tools and resources they have at their disposal. Healing isn’t linear. Keep going. One foot in front of the other. You are worth it. And if no one else has told you today, you are here for a purpose and I love you.
