Laundry Softener

Dryer sheets, conventional fabric softeners, and detergent combos are full of compounds and ingredients we’d be better off not having against our body’s largest organ, our skin, all day long. This is a quick and simple swap. Save money. Lower toxin load. Win win.🏆

Instead of fabric softener, put a cup of vinegar in your rinse cycle or fill a Downy Ball with vinegar and seal before tossing in with your load. Wool dryer balls are a great alternative to dryer sheets and help clothes remain soft and help retire static cling. Three of these in the dryer will last months. 👃🏼 Smells don’t mean clean and are typically a concoction of chemicals we’d never dream of putting on our bodies or inhaling. If you like a scent, put a few drops of your favorite essential oils on before adding to the dryer. I like lavender. (I add tea tree to my detergent in any load of towels or other items that can get funky waiting to be washed).
