Oil Cleansing

I know this sounds counterintuitive. I know…but, trust me. Game changer.

🌱 Let me tell you a few perks of using oil to actually wash your face:

-Helps balance oil production
-Removes dirt, makeup, and all manner of grime
-Can clear pores
-Can help heal acne and it can clear the pores of bacteria
-Hydrating
-Can slow aging of the skin
-The lazy girl’s face wash. I’m serious.

🌱 My oil of choice: Jojoba
Jojoba is an incredible oil. It’s made from the seed of the jojoba plant. It’s a highly stable oil that does not go rancid quickly or easily. More on this awesome oil:

-Highly emollient: soothes and moisturizes the skin
-A polyunsaturated wax making it a great protector of skin
-Contains vitamins and minerals including: B complex, chromium, cooper, E, iodine, silicon, and zinc. All of which make this a highly therapeutic oil
-Similar to skin’s natural sebum in structure, it is able to remove excess yuck, balance oils, and moisturize very well, without clogging pores or remaining oily or sticky in the skin
-Removes makeup easily and effectively
-Non Comedogenic, will not clog pores
-Effective skin cleanser
-Antibacterial
-Antifungal
-High in antioxidants
-Hypoallergenic
-Nontoxic
-Protects skin
-Great for all skin types
-An excellent all over moisturizer

I pump some plain organic and cold pressed jojoba in my hand. My favorite is @mountainroseherbs (I’ve also used the ones from @traderjoes and @levenrosebeauty *linked in my amazon shop* and think they’re both great options). Rub it all over my face. Gently wipe off with a warm, wet cloth. Then I add some more jojoba on that I have added some essential oils to just to be extra and for added skin benefits. My faves are rose, frankincense, lavender, and tea tree. Just pat that all over my still damp face, neck, and dĂ©colletage. I have a highlight called, “Skin” if you wanna see a demo. It’s honestly easier and better than any face wash I’ve ever done and it works so much better. My skin is clean, hydrated, and plump. And it’s easier. I can’t stress this enough. It’s cheaper. It’s easier. It works better. It’s #alittlelesstoxic
